this is getting to me. Microsoft are not breaking the RFC. And they can't fix the bug.

Tell you what, you come up with a 100% accurate way of telling that a given username is a 'real' username or a domain spoof, and I'll respect you. But until then, shut the hell up and let MS do the best damn thing
I've seen them do in ages with a little less flack.
(the section you want in the RCF is 3.3, specifically 'No user name or password is allowed'.)
