OK, so I'm spinning the first paragraph a bit. Still, it stands.
'topics would often appear on a few relatively unknown blogs days before they appeared on more popular sites'
'infectious people can be hard to find because they do not always receive attribution for being the first to point to an interesting idea or news item'
I did wonder aloud here why people via big names (Kottke, plasticbag, boingboing) when often the original idea comes from somewhere else.
