Potential confusion here. There's a new Mac OS X application called Tangerine, which is apparently an automated BPM calculator which integrates nicely with iTunes.

As with all the cool kid's software these days, it's a 10.4 only release, so I've not tested it, but I've always thought such a thing would be nifty to have.

Sadly, it's not the first app of that name, and it's not even the first one that's iTunes related.

See, here's Tangerine.

Tangerine is an application that allows you to publish music over the local network, using DAAP. It runs on Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X.

It's also very nifty- instead of having to rely on a disk scan, or an iTunes XML file, it uses Beagle, Google Desktop or Spotlight (depending on OS) to source its database.

I wonder if Tangerine will be able to use Tangerine's data?

Unfortunately, Tangerine (the new one) is convinced that all my MP3s are 51 BPM. Even the Happy Hardcore I fed it just to check I wasn't mad.

In reply to pfig: I put colour in my photos, you put colour in your web pages. I think that's a fair trade.

There aren't enough apps called 'Puce'.
