There were two interesting videos on this weekend on the MTVs. Both make extensive use of flat colour, and presumably owe a debt to computer manipulation, and both kind of feature the band live in some way.
The first was Queens of the Stone Age, which I saw on MTV2. It's very black and red, and reminiscent of the 80s Matchbox B-Line Disaster video at Antenna in its mood, if not exactly its look.
The second was The Dysfunctionals (I think) doing Payback Time, the current jeans ad with the mice. It's actually tied in quite strongly to the mouse/human hybrid theme, but appears to be riffing much more off London.
The is convinced it borrows from the Northern Line exit at Kings Cross. I'm not so certain, but it's certainly plausible.
The tones are different, though; much more grey and yellow with some use of black.
Anyway, keep an eye out if you're also a music video obsessive, and I'll try and use this as an aide memoire to dig out internet versions sooner or later.

chaff / We watch the world spinning: Blur's Out Of Time is a great video. MTV might not show it any more, though, because of the war. Which isn't really important, but it is annoying.
We hate you all. Yes, especially you. Sod off and DIE
