via Dan Hon earlier today. (Nice permalinks there, btw.)

This is the sort of thing that always prompts me to check out the sort of people who do futures I actually like, like Ken McLeod.

(dan has two earlier essays as well, which are related.)

Personally, my feeling here is that there's NOTHING WRONG with living in a slowly expanding socialism, as opposed the the somewhat unpleasant grind that Americal looks like from over here.

Expaning more slowly than America isn't a sign that Europe has had it and is doomed to a slow horrible death.

anyway, current house conspiracy theories call for the US to collapse first.\

(cf massive US trade defecits, etc, etc)\

blech:

Having trouble with the iBook keyboard there, you European socialist, you?

jerakeen:

Incidentally, I've been using a full-width enter key a lot recently. you can tell.

blech:

If you used an honest-to-goodness American keymap like God intended this would never happen!

jerakeen:

Damn. IRC doesn't really make for a perfect blogging/conversation tool.

blech:

You could also find the # glyph more easily. (Option 3.)

jerakeen:

shift-3, at the moment, I'm afraid.

blech:

I think I derailed this. I could quite happily get politically ranty about Beste's stuff, and also the things he links to.

Mind you, I just finished Jennifer Government and enjoyed it greatly, so I'm evidently pinko commie scum too.
