OK, so there's a new version, as spooled yesterday.

I update Bluetooth with Software Update, and restart. Fine so far.

I rerun Software Update. No updates. Oh, must be a download job. Fair enough. Trundle to apple.com, and realise it's one of their email harvesting jobs.

This would be fair enough, except they then put up a page saying 'Next time, why not use Software Update?'

Well, I will if you will, you fucks!

But no, you have to squeeze email addresses out of people every time you release an iApp update!

dear Apple, please don't feed the blech, regards 2lmc

I also downloaded the Palm conduit update.

This failed to find Palm Desktop 4.0, which I'm now reinstalling in the faint hope that Apple's braindead installer will be able to find the application if it's in the default location.

I don't know why I bother. I may have a Palm, iPod and T39 (and hence be in the iSync target market), but I'm not impressed by the conflict handling and in any case I don't get enough exciting! new! contacts! to need to sync more often than every six months.

Especially when you make the yaks so hard to shave.
